My issue could have been resolved without a lot of the drama, but I had tried to contact Jody numerous times, and couldn't reach him and my point wasn't being made via emails, so I turned to the forums. But after talking with Jody over the phone, everything worked out well.

My issue with the cable did draw a lot of attention on another forum a few years back, and it got a bit heated. But during this time, I was also changing a lot of components out on the engine and moved to a TS style chip with live tuning. I also changed out my alternator to a 220amp setup. Even the amp was segmented from the truck via a 1.5f capacitor. The head unit didn't use the preamp to power the speakers, I used the 5v rca output jacks to a amp to drive the speakers. After I installed my pioneer deck with bluetooth, it got worse.Īt that point, I ran clean power to the unit and did not use the stock grounding. The chip worked fine after that other than random hissing\static through the speakers when changing tunes. My F5 would randomly shut the truck down, throw odd codes, and just give me hell. No interference, but it had it's own issues. I was told that it is an aftermarket item and since it was working, they could help point out areas to look for, but they couldn't do anymore. I told them them the chip worked fine (car ran), software was buggy as hell, but otherwise everything worked. I spoke with moates about this and they sent me a new chip. I had to fire up the car and move it inside and all of the sudden, no interference. As luck would have it, my software started giving me COM errors (old DOS based software force to run in win98), so I gave up for the night and called it a day. Only after doing some testing and data monitoring on the road, I pulled the chip one night to reburn it. At first I thought it was the ignition setup, so I pulled the MSD and installed a Jacob's setup. On AM stations, you could definitely hear interference. I stated in the other thread I had issues with moates setups in mustangs.
